Robert was born to the late John and Clara Haney in Houston, Missouri on December 17, 1927. At 18 years old, he enlisted into the United States Navy and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal.
Robert was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was candid and uncomplicated so you always knew where he stood in his beliefs. He enjoyed building model railroads, reading books and completing jigsaw puzzles. He was a beloved member of Sun City West Baptist Church in Arizona and served his community as a central office technician for Mountain Bell Telephone Company and through the Civil Service.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years, Carolyn Wallace Haney; son, Mark Haney and his wife Miwa; stepdaughters, Ellen Mooney and her husband Tim and Victoria "Vicky" McColley; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan and Melissa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held in Robert's honor on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 11 o'clock AM at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, Georgia 30188. Dr. Vic Bledsoe of Shiloh Hills Baptist Church will officiate.
