John Gerhard Abramson, 65, of Woodstock GA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, October 29, 2012. John was born November 13, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from East High School in Duluth, MN with the class of 1964 and attended the University of Minnesota – Duluth. He joined his best friend and lifelong sweetheart, Kay Lundgren in marriage November 1967. Together they had two daughters, Kimberly and Tara. After spending most of his life in Minnesota, John and Kay relocated to Woodstock 16 years ago. John was employed by Alere Healthcare of Atlanta, GA as an IT project manager, and was a certified member of the Project Management Institute. John loved his grandchildren; enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow. He was an avid golfer, a long-time member of Eagle Watch Golf Club in Towne Lake, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran, and past Exulted Ruler of the Hopkins, MN Elks Lodge #2221. He will be remembered for his dry wit, and warm generous heart.
John is survived by his wife and best friend, Kay; daughters, Kimberly Mauriello (David), Tara Pierce (Jack); six grandchildren Peyton, Jack, Ethan, Zachary, Joshua, and Samantha of Woodstock and his brother David Abramson of Duluth Minnesota; and many very special cousins. He is predeceased by parents, John “Ernie” and Virginia (Gina) Abramson, and his brother James. A memorial service will be at 3:00pm Saturday, November 03, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Woodstock. An open house reception will follow the service at the home of his daughter Kimberly in Woodstock.
