Gary Ashley

Gary Ashley, age 66, of Kennesaw, Georgia, formerly of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Gary was born to the late Donal Lee Ashley and the late Peggy Merritt Ashley on December 9, 1955 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was Rossville High School Class of 1973’s Valedictorian and had attended Dalton Junior College as well as West Georgia College.

Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He found joy in reading, drawing, playing chess and comics. He had a great sense of humor and was the kind of person who put his family first. He will be remembered as a great Deedoo (aka Grandpa Gary).

Gary worked in a variety of roles at Chattanooga Publishing Company for 32 years. He worked with Apple until retiring in 2017.

Gary’s kindness and memory will be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Cindy Ashley; daughter, Karen Ashley; three beautiful grandchildren, Gillian, Jacob and Brigid; aunt, Reecie Renegar; and his brilliant calico cat, Syd.
