Freddie Jimmy Townsend Sr.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Zeke and Louise Thacker Townsend, and a brother Charlie Townsend. Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Alva Townsend. Jimmy and Alva have two sons, Freddie (Kim) Townsend and Scott (Dana) Townsend. There are five grandchildren; Heather, Hannah, Tanner, Hunter, and Hayden. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He always supported his children and grandchildren in any activities they chose to take part in. He was right there beside them cheering them on! Jimmy loved his church family and served his church as a deacon for many years. His favorite things to do were to go to the beach, going out to dinner while on vacation at the beach, meeting his friends for coffee in the mornings, and just loving life with his wonderful sense of humor! He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Freddie will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A visitation will occur Monday, January 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188.
