It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Erin, who left us far too soon at the age of 28. Erin was a woman who embraced life with a passion that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. Her infectious smile and laugh truly reflected her vibrant spirit, and her energy was a light in every room she entered.
Erin Kathleen Riley was born to Gloria and Jeff Riley on January 2, 1996, in DeLand, Florida. When Erin was 11 months old, Gloria and Jeff moved Erin (along with her siblings Patrick, Bobby, Elizabeth, and Allison) to Marietta, Georgia. She grew up in a home full of love and support and made many lifelong friends while attending Keheley Elementary School, McCleskey Middle School, and Kell High School. At the age of 14, Erin began working at Kiwi Salon as an assistant, where she quickly developed a passion for hairstyling. Over the years, she built lasting relationships with hundreds of clients, solidifying her love for making people look their best.
Erin grew up with a love for adventure and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She had a remarkable ability to find joy in the little things, always seeking out new experiences and making memories with those she loved. Whether traveling to new places, sharing quiet moments with those around her, or laughing with friends, she cherished every opportunity to live life to the fullest.
Above all, Erin was devoted to her husband, Alex. Together, they built a life filled with love, support, and shared dreams. Their love for one another embodied the vow of "in sickness and in health." Her deep connection with her loved ones was the cornerstone of who she was—a person who radiated warmth, kindness, and generosity.
Erin leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and a reminder to all who knew her to embrace every moment.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Nancy DeMarco, Patrick DeMarco, Eleanor Riley, Martha Callahan, and her niece Charlotte Wisor.
Erin is survived by her loving husband, Terry "Alex" Boomer; her fur babies, Moose and Dilly; her mother, Gloria Riley; her father, Jeffrey Riley; and her siblings Patrick Wisor (and his son Brendan Wisor), Robert "Bobby" Wisor (married to Lindsay Wisor, and their children Jaxson and Caroline Wisor), Elizabeth Wright (married to Justin Wright, and their children Ezra and Aurielle Wright), Brittany Herring (and her son Landon Belt), Allison Chambers (married to Jordan Chambers, and their children Bryson, Millie, and Cora Chambers), Shannon Riley (and her daughter Emma Riley); her grandparents Edward and Sharon Riley, and her grandfather John "Jack" Callahan.
She is also survived by her in-laws, whom she loved as much as her own family: Terry and Angie Boomer, Terrie and Ron McLaughlin, Cody and Lindsey Boomer (and their children Alton and Avery Boomer), James "Timmy" Edmonds (and his daughter Blake Edmonds), and Jake McLaughlin.
Additionally, Erin is survived by countless friends and family who were touched by her presence. While her time with us was too brief, the love and memories she leaves behind will live on forever.
A celebration of Erin's life will take place on November 22, 2024, at First Baptist Woodstock. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by the service at 3:00 PM, as we gather to honor and remember the extraordinary woman she was.
Rest in peace, Erin. Your smile, your spirit, and your love will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute. For those wishing to send flowers, please consider using Brenda’s House of Flowers at (770) 926-3306 and have them sent to First Baptist Woodstock by 12 PM Friday.
