Mr. David M. Wilson, 67, of Woodstock, GA passed away August 9, 2014. He was born on October 3, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Archie and Janet Wilson. David served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, David worked as a diesel mechanic for Cummins Diesel. He then worked for many years at Ryder Truck Rental, working his way up to becoming the service manager. David also worked as the maintenance person at Braton Green Church Camp, AKA the Gray Center, in Canton, MS until his retirement. He loved camping, fishing and cheering for the Greenbay Packers. David enjoyed working with children, and taught the three year old Sunday school classes. David served as the president of his HOA in Mississippi. He also served on the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and operated a Ham radio in Woodstock, GA. He worked hard and could fix just about anything. David was a man of God and devoted to his family. He leaves behind his wife, Diane Wilson, sons, David Wilson (Anne), Thomas Wilson and Brett Wilson, grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Nolan, Catherine and Alyson Wilson, great-granddaughter, Kassidy Bitler, brothers, Jim Wilson, Roger Wilson (Sue), Joe Simo (Sharon) and John Simo (Donna) and sisters, Christine Purdy and Joanne Andersen (Craig). A memorial service will be on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock in the Fireside Room at 11:00am. Interment with military honors will follow at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will host a reception at the Brookshire Subdivision Club House after the interment.
