Charles “Chuck” Eugene Rollins, 81, a proud former Marine, successful entrepreneur, and beloved family man, passed away on September, 10th 2024. Born on December 8th, 1942 in Columbus, GA. Chuck lived a life defined by service, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
After graduating from high school, Chuck answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps. He served with honor and distinction, embodying the values of courage, commitment, and loyalty. These principles became the foundation of his life, influencing everything he did, both in and out of uniform.
Following his military service, Chuck transitioned into the world of business, where his entrepreneurial spirit thrived. He founded ERC Parts, Inc. in 1979, starting as a small operation that grew into a thriving enterprise under his leadership. Known for his innovative thinking, integrity, and relentless work ethic, Chuck built not just a business but a legacy of success and opportunity for many. He treated his employees like family, always generous with his time, wisdom, and resources, fostering a work environment where everyone felt valued and respected.
Chuck was also known for his extraordinary generosity. He gave selflessly to his family, ensuring they were always supported and loved. Whether it was helping a loved one start their own venture, offering guidance through tough times, or simply being there as a shoulder to lean on, Chuck was the cornerstone of his family’s strength. His generosity extended beyond his family; he was a dedicated philanthropist, contributing to numerous charities and veteran organizations that were close to his heart. Chuck believed deeply in giving back and helping those in need, a reflection of his compassionate nature. He touched the lives of many with his generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. His legacy of giving will be remembered by his family, friends, employees, and the many charitable organizations he supported.
From his first marriage, Chuck is survived by Laura Hart and Charles Rollins Jr., who remember him as a loving and supportive father who never hesitated to put his family first. Later in life, he found love again, marrying Dianna Fell and expanding his family to include Karen Hofmeister, Krista Tobey and Chad Fell, whom he welcomed with open arms.
In addition to his children, Chuck is survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; all of whom were his pride and joy. He was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, known for his unwavering support, wise advice, and boundless generosity. He was always present at their milestones, celebrating their successes and offering unwavering support.
Chuck is also survived by a brother, George “Butch” Claridy. His sister, Alice “Mickey” Tiedemann, preceded him in death. Their extended families include 6 nieces and nephews and 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on September 20th at 4:00pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior project, continuing Chuck’s legacy of giving.
