Carol Marjorie Bowen

Carol Marjorie Bowen, age 81, of Acworth, GA, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in New York and resided there for many years before moving to Georgia.

Carol was an active and beloved member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star having earned her 60 year pin, and the DAR. She used her talent for knitting to create beautiful prayer shawls for her family, friends, and those in need. Carol was known for her lively nature and giving heart. She gave her all in everything she did with enthusiasm and poise. She will always be remembered as a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

Carol leaves to cherish in her memory her husband of 50 years, Hubert “Buff” Bowen Sr.; son, Hubert “Buff” Bowen Jr. and his wife Karen; daughter, Leslie Kenny and her husband Rick; sisters, Lillian Bowman and Irene Ridgeway; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and lifelong friends.

Carols resurrection to life eternal and the Rites of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sunday, March 28th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 1210 Wooten Lake Rd NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144 adjacent to the Memorial Garden of Christ Episcopal Church. Weather permitting, the liturgy will be celebrated outdoors so all who wish to join may attend. Congregants are asked to wear a mask and to bring their own chair. Burial will immediately follow the liturgy. Reception will be held at 4pm at Meyerhardt Lodge No. 314, 1801 Big Shanty Dr, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Episcopal Church or the Eastern Star Meyerhardt Lodge No. 314 would be most appreciated. If you choose to send flowers, please note the church grounds are windy. Tall arrangements may be difficult to secure.
