Mrs. Barbara J. Fritsch, 79, of Woodstock, GA passed away March 10, 2019. Barbara was born on September 17, 1939 in Edinburgh, Scotland. At the age of 8, she moved to Rhodesia, which is now Zimbabwe. She returned to Scotland to attend college when she was older. After graduation, she moved back to Rhodesia where she worked and raised her children. When she was 52, she moved to the United States of America with only $93.00 to her name, and in 2014 proudly became a citizen. She met and married the love of her life, her late husband, George Fritsch in 2006. In the past year, Barbara worked for Woodstock Funeral Home. She loved her job and greeted every guest with charm and compassion. She was very independent and determined to meet any goal that she set her mind to. Barbara loved shopping and found a thrill at a good bargain, entertaining and growing daffodils. Barbara leaves behind her son, Graham Westhoff and his wife Dominique; inherited children, Linda Walsh and her husband Tom and Kurt Fritsch and his wife, Wendy; and grandchildren, Matthew Westhoff, Michael Westhoff, Andrew Walsh, Sarah Gingrich and Jessica Naumann. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George John Fritsch, Jr. A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00pm at Hillside United Methodist Church, Rev. Jim McGraw to officiate. A reception will follow the service.
