Margaret Mary Murray

Margaret was born in 1932, one of six children. She emigrated from Carrigallen, County Leitrim, Ireland to New York. It was while working at a doctor’s office that she decided to pursue a career in healthcare, completing an RN degree and a Holistic Nursing certificate at New York College in Syosset, NY. In the 1960s, Margaret bought her apartment in Queens with a beautiful view of the NYC skyline. When she wasn’t travelling, she enjoyed spending time in Manhattan and Long Island. Margaret was an avid reader, an excellent cook and enjoyed skiing. She liked baseball and enjoyed going to Mets’ games as well as vacations in the Pocono and Catskill mountains. She visited her nieces and nephews in NY, Ireland and England often.

Margaret was a lifelong advocate for healthy living and shared her knowledge of nutrition and wellness with everyone she cared about. Margaret remained fit and mentally strong many years into retirement and worked part-time as a private nurse.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents Bridget and Daniel also her brothers Frank and Thomas. She is survived by her sisters, AnnaB and Ellen and brother, Donal, nieces and nephews, Eileen, Cathy, Donald, Kevin, Laura B, Anita, Declan, Anne, Michael, Laura G, Marie, Brendan and Ailish, along with 21 grand nieces and nephews.
