Born in Rincon, Puerto Rico he was the son of Pascual and Mercedes Valentin. He attended Haran High School in NYC and was a printer/die cutter by trade. He was employed by Douglas Elliman, and worked at 1020 5th Avenue as a Maintenance/Handyman (Local 32 BJ) until his retirement in 2004.
He was a parishioner at Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Woodside where he lived for almost 50 years. His loved his community, his neighbors and until the very end of his life he always made time to say hello and check in with everyone. Eugenio loved his family more than anything. He was constantly in touch with them, playing an active role in their lives, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved to play computer games (Candy Crush) and listening to his Jibaritomusic on YouTube. He loved to play the scratch off lotteries, and to accompany his wife on her shopping trips. He travelled with his family, most recently on cruises to the Caribbean and his beloved Puerto Rico. Atlantic City was often a favorite destination as well
with his wife and kids. He was a lifelong NY Mets fan, often enjoying the games via Messenger with his wife and adult children. He loved Christmas and never let a birthday go by without playing the “Happy
Birthday” record to his family.
His is survived by his wife Claribel Valentin, his children Eugenio, Lissette and Frank, son-in-law Keith, daughters-in-law Gina and Evelyn, grandchildren Keith Michael, McKenzie, Evan, Eva, Sophia
and Daniel, sister Crucita Lopez and nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in laws, cousins, friends, and neighbors in his community. He is predeceased by his brother Gilberto, his mother Mercedes and
father Pascual.
