Sarah Gonzalez

Sarah Muñoz Gonzalez was born October 3, 1927 in Westwood, California. Entered into rest October 15, 2021 in the comfort of her home in Woodlake surrounded by her husband, daughters and grandchildren.

Sarah Munoz Gonzalez was born to Flora and Cecilio Munoz. She was the seventh of 13 children. Sarah graduated from Woodlake High School on May 31st, 1946 and continued her education at Fresno City College where she received her certificate of completion in vocational nursing on January 31, 1959. Soon after, she began working for Dr. Angelo Manuele. During her employment, she met and married the love of her life, Raul Gonzalez on December 22, 1963. The following year they welcome their first daughter. The young family decided to move to San Jose, California where there was better job opportunities. In 1969, they welcome their second daughter. Sarah lived in San Jose from 1968 to 1996. She worked as an LVN in pediatrics at Santa Clara Kaiser for 25 years. Sarah retired in 1992 and returned with her husband to her childhood home in Woodlake, California where she lived until her passing. Sarah was a devoted member for many of the Apostolic Church of Woodlake and taught her grandchildren prayers, church songs and the Word of the Lord. She enjoyed cooking and baking different treats for her family and for the church. Sarah’s favorite holiday was Christmas as this was the time of the year to celebrate being with family and Jesus Christ.

Sarah leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 57 years, Raul Gonzalez; her two daughters, Flora Perez and Becky “Nina” Cervantes; her 8 grandchildren, Yvonne, Cerina, Alex, Senaida, Enrique, Cecilia, Gilbert and Abraham; her six great grandchildren, Sierra, Adrian, Annalicia, Aaliyah, Daniel and Minerva.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller Memorial Chapel 134 North Cypress Street, Woodlake, CA 93286. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 9:00 am at La Iglesia Apostolica de La Fe, 199 North Palm Street, Woodlake, CA 93286 followed with Interment at Woodlake Public Cemetery.
