Dave was born in Eau Claire Wisconsin and grew up in the unincorporated town of Brackett where he met the love of his life, Virginia (Ginger) Green. After serving in the US Army, Dave and Ginger were married and moved to Minnesota where Dave worked at 3M for 32 years. Upon retirement, he served in multiple leadership roles of the Powers Lake Townhome Association. Dave enjoyed time with his family, cheering on the Packers, and golf – highlighted by time spent with friends at the 19th hole.
A devoted husband for 58 years, Dave was also an incredible father to Meredith (Wade) Shanahan and Matthew (Wendy) Fleming and a proud Papa to Bailee, Katelyn and Grant. Dave also bears the title of brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor to many who will miss his thorough analysis of literally any topic, impromptu golf lessons, his quiet sense of humor, and a million other things that made him so special.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Laverne (Bruckner) Fleming, and his sister, Sue Weiss.
He is survived and will be forever missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and sister, Linda Holte, as well as his brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Dave’s family would like to thank Accent Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on November 11, 2023 at the Sheraton Hotel in Woodbury from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the ALS Association (ALS.org) or I Am ALS (iamals.org) in Dave’s honor.
