Bernice was born in Albert Lea, Mn on August 17th, 1928. Bernice was preceded in death by husband Delmar Schmitt, parents John and Martha Nelson and brothers Knute (Doris) and Marvin (Colleen) Nelson. She was a loving mother to her four sons, David (Chris), Lynn (Mary Kay), Kevin (Heidi), Scott (Laurie). Also, a loving Grandma to Jason (Jennifer Scherbel), Amy (Mike VanZee), Ben, Ian (Maria), Matthew (Louise), Mary Claire (Tyler Wente), Nick and Emily Schmitt. Also, her Great Grandkids, Jack, Jake, Tiffany (Jacob), Sofia, Soren, Arvid, Emmanuel, Lennox, Mary and Hudson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Visitation one hour prior to service from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 655 Forest St. St. Paul, MN 55106. Memorials may be given to the donors choice or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
