Born on April 20, 1942, to Dau V. Vo and Lau T. Trinh, Bach was the first son and the 6th child of 10 children. Bach was raised in Ben Tre, Vietnam.
At 20, Bach enlisted in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, where he served with pride and dedication. Rising to the rank of Captain, he earned the Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device for heroism in ground combat (July 13, 1969). He was also awarded the Army Commendation Medal for heroism in the Republic of Vietnam (March 1, 1970). His military service was a testament to his courage and deep commitment to his country.
In the latter half of his life, Bach devoted himself entirely to his family – his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He filled their lives with love, laughter and a sense of joy through his playful nature and clever pranks. Bach’s warmth and humor were constants in their lives, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever, leaving a lasting legacy of love and happiness.
Bach is survived by his wife (Dung Nguyen); sons Dai Hong (Lap), Dat Hong, and Tommy Bao Hong Vo; daughter Chi Vo-Ransdell (Joey); grandchildren Chau (Kha), An, Blake, Joseph, Keira, Lucy and Nora; two great grandchildren; brothers Ba Tuoc (Tuyet), Thanh Nha (Suong); sister Yen; and many other family members and close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sisters.
A memorial service honoring the life of Bach is planned at the Wulff Funeral Home (2195 Woodlane Dr, Woodbury, MN 55125) on Sunday September 1, 2024, at 10 am to 12 pm.
