Mary Zielke

Mary is survived by nieces Helen (Bob) Herauf and Julie (Eric) Rowe; nephew Terry (Cindy) Chomyn; great-nieces and nephews Janelle Herauf, Jeremy (JoJo) Herauf, Jenny Rowe (Rus Clarke), Allie (Jeff) Glass, Morgan Chomyn, Justin (Jenny) Chomyn and Cameron Chomyn; great-great nieces and nephews: Max, Mila, Rowan, Lucy and Clementine; cousins in the Ukraine and many friends.

Mary was predeceased by parents Peter and Katie (Kolynych) Kotylak, sister and brother-in-law Olga and Bernard Chomyn and brother Paul Kotylak.

Mary was born in Montmartre on September 17, 1938. Her working career started in Regina, then a move to Saskatoon and Calgary, ending with her retirement in Regina. She took pride in her work and the many friendships she made throughout her career.

Mary was known affectionately as Chotka to her family. Chotka was generous with her time and talents. We enjoyed her perogies, cabbage rolls and baking. She loved to watch curling and chatting about the teams and their play. Chotka did beautiful petit point and had a green thumb.

Throughout her life her faith in Jesus Christ as her Saviour and Lord never wavered.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing can make a donation to a charity of their choice.

As per Mary’s wishes a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
