Julia Scott (nee Zbitnew) was born February 15, 1929, on a farm in the Buchanan, Saskatchewan area. She passed away on April 1, 2021 due to complications from COPD and heart disease. Julia was the 7th child of ten – born to Mariya and Spiroden Zbitnew.
She was predeceased by her husband William; her 9 siblings and their spouses; her husband’s 11 siblings and most of their spouses; her parents and parents in law and some nieces and nephews.

Julia is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law in Grenfell and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Mom was a strong little Ukrainian woman. She was a fabulous cook, seamstress, knitter and crochet expert. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She was a stay-at-home mom and almost every niece and nephew benefited from having her live right across the street from the elementary school in Grenfell. She had a great network of friends over the years that she visited and had coffee with. Those that are still around will surely miss her. Mom lived a long life. 92 trips around the sun, is a great feat that many do not get the chance to experience. She was the last Zbitnew of her generation. No matter what life threw at her, she was tough and never complained no matter how ill she was and how much pain she was in. Mom is no longer suffering and is now reunited with her entire family and dad.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private service for immediate family was held in the Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, Wolseley, SK on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Bruce officiating.
