She was the daughter of Joseph and Nora Lovequist. She grew up with her large family. William
Blackwood and she were married on October 30, 1948. They moved for work to Alberta, in May
1964 welcomed their only son Brian George, who was their world. They later moved and settled in
Duncan. Bill died suddenly June 24,1971 and Clara was never the same she had loved him so
much. She and Brian moved back to Saskatchewan and she continued to live her life, working
and doting on her boy when she was well. She had a long-term friendship with Ernie (Atkins) and
lived in her home in Broadview until she went to Centennial Lodge until her death. Clara always
had a special twinkle in her eye when she spoke of Bill and Brian, her deep love for them never
changed, Brian spoke daily to his mom until she could no longer communicate. She is already
missed.
Clara is survived by son Brian Blackwood (Tracy); brothers Lloyd Lovequist and Floyd (Marie) Lovequist and many nieces and nephews and all those whose life she touched.
She was predeceased by her husband William George Blackwood; parents Joseph and Nora Lovequist; brothers: Herb, Helmer, Ken and Wilber and sisters: Gladice, Lots and Mabel.
There will be a graveside service and interment with her husband Bill in Duncan B.C. at a later date.
