Robert was born February 16, 1939 in Waterbury, CT to the late Charles and Mary (DiDominzio) Verbickas.
Robert was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School, and went on to be a developmental engineer. He was very successful in his career. He was always in his home office working on his genius designs. He had such a big influence in the rolling mill industry, as he took so much pride in his work, and he became a mentor to his coworkers and his son.
He married the love of his life, Annette Verbickas, on August 24, 1959.
His passions were coaching baseball and track, taking trips, mowing his lawn, gardening, watching the sports, especially boxing, the Yankees and the Giants, and cooking anything with seafood. He loved spending time with his family, telling stories from his past and all of his accomplishments.
After raising five children of his own, he then helped raise his grandchildren who loved him dearly. And for the past four years, he gained a beautiful relationship with his great-grandchildren, Savannah, Kayden, McKinlee and Hailey. His family will truly miss his crazy, sarcastic, but hilarious sense of humor and quick remarks.
Robert is survived by his wife, Annette, of Wolcott, four children; Robert Jr., Diane, James, Jeanne and her husband, Joe. He is also survived by his brother James and his sister, Jeanne. Robert is also survived by his grandchildren; Dominic and his wife Nina, Nieco and partner Kelly, Kayla and her husband Tylor, Jennifer, Steven, Christopher, John-Robert, Michael, Robert, Taylor, Alexandra, and Brooke, as well as twelve great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Charlotte, his grandson Jonathan, and by a sister, Charlotte.
