M. Dillard Rosser passed away on September 25, 2014 at the age of 88. He was born in Hapeville, GA and moved to Orlando in 1962. He was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Winter Park, FL as a choir member and served on many committees of the church, including Habitat for Humanity. Until retirement in 1987, he was a regional supervisor with Texaco Oil Co. He is survived by Melba Green Rosser, his wife of 67 years, daughter Ellen Kay Vandeberghe of Altamonte Springs, grandchildren Courtney Rosser of Orlando, Sean Hindy of Altamonte Springs, Shelby Vandeberghe of Altamonte Springs and sister Lynn Rosser of Casselberry, FL He was a member and past president of the National Exchange Club in Georgia and past president of Civitan International, Orlando club. He was formerly a Little League Baseball coach and enjoyed all sports and participated in most types of music and choral work including his own male quartet. For years he volunteered as a “handy man” for his church. A memorial service will be held at First United Church of Winter Park in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 4:30 pm. He will be buried at the Kimball Methodist Church Community Cemetery in Sylvester, GA on October 4, 2014 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the First United Church of Winter Park for the Music Ministry, 125 N. Interlachen Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789.
