Lena Tran Perry of Cape Canaveral, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023. She was born May 14, 1951 in Saigon, Vietnam. Lena came to the United States from Vietnam and settled in Orlando, Florida in the 70’s. Her son, Andrew Bowling, was born in 1979, and the two had an inseparable bond. They were very close and learned to rely on each other.
After losing Andrew, Lena began to spend a lot of time seeking the Lord and studying the Bible. A 7th Day Adventist pastor invited her to his church and treated her like his own daughter. The outpouring of love she felt from the church allowed her to embrace Christianity and accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized in 2006, and her faith continued to strengthen as she felt God’s presence and grace at work in her life.
Lena met her husband David in 2010, and the two were married in 2012. Lena’s family and friends saw David as the perfect companion as he brought back a true sense of happiness that had been missing in Lena’s life. The world was brightened by her smile and contagious laugh. Lena’s generosity was felt by all, and she will forever be remembered for her caring and loving nature.
She is survived by her husband, David Slaiman; her sisters, Lang Ebright and Thi Mico Thach; her brother, Hung Van Tran; her nieces, Jaclyn Wesley, Michelle Amato, Tuyen Kim Tran, Thanh Kim Tran, and Loan Thach; her nephews, Greg Ebright, Phi Tran, Trung Thanh Tran and Linh Thach.
