JUST RECEIVED SALLY’S CHRISTMAS CARD AND LEARNED OF MR. SNYDER’S PASSING. WEEPING AS I WRITE THIS. GLENDA AND I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR HIM AND PRAY FOR SALLY AND FAMILY.

I’M SURE GOD HAS ASKED HIM TO PLAY A LEADERSHIP ROLE. GOD BLESS YOU BILL AND FAMILY

A great man, a great leader, and a great friend.  He will be missed by so many of us who were his friends.  

Bill was an amazing leader, my mentor, my friend.  I tell people I got an MBA through a fire hose with Bill as our Chairman at AutoBody America.  But he was much more than that. He cared more about the people that he worked with and led, yet still recognizing the charge we had to make our business as successful as it could be. Very wise, very caring, and most humble.   I remember being in an elevator with Bill in his office in Maryland after GEICO. Somehow the GEICO name and the association of Bill with Geico came up. When asked what he did there, he said I helped them be successful. I leader I will always cherish and honor. I miss you Bill and will continue to pray for Sally.   Jay Baas

Bill Snyder was a special man, who always made those in his company feel special. He was kind and always had a warm smile and hug when he greeted you. He and Sally shared a true love of commitment and compassion for each other that could be seen and felt by others when they were together.  John and I always enjoyed spending time with Bill and Sally when they were up our way.  Through our friendship, we shared good food, good drink and  lively conversations.  In addition, you always learned something new from Bill's wealth of knowledge.  He was a good man, possessing a kind and gentle spirit and he will be missed by his family and many friends.  Our deepest sympathy and love Sally and family.

I had the honor of meeting him at the camp that bears his name. I started the position for a business manager at the camp and then helped to expand our extra space into a store for the scouts. Both he and Sally came by on a visit, and I was happy to see his pride in the camp. He always had a firm handshake and no matter what always made eye contact....you knew you had his attention when speaking with him.  While I no longer work at the camp, I still volunteer as a camp master and merit badge counselor and always mentally thank him for our ability to have such a nice place to camp at and work with all the youth.  My condolences to his family and friends, rest easy knowing heaven has a great person in their midst.

I was a member of Bill’s management team at GEICO. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for his leadership and the success of our company. I will always be very grateful for his kindness and support.  Cathy and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to Sally. 


I remember enjoying knowing Bill all through junior high and high school until our graduation in 1947. I will always cherish the memories

Bill and I lived in the same neighborhood Glen Elk - Clarksburg, WV.  We were pals at  Central Jr High School and continued our friendship all the way through Washington Irving High Class of '47.
We had a unique group of high school boys and girls and Bill was one of the most admired

Bill was one of the most impressive guys in our high school class.
We all knew he would excel in the business world and he did, indeed.

It is my pleasure to have known Bill and he will be in my mental library of the good times we shared.





I worked at GEICO with Bill Snyder.  He might have been the boss but first and foremost he was a gentleman.  No matter how crazy the situation might be, he was always calm and analytical.  When I was transferred to  our Texas office, he was the one that assured my wife she'd love it there.  And she did.   My career and life have been  better because of Bill Snyder's presence. 

Bill Snyder was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He was a remarkable person and a gift to those around him. A strong classy gentleman with a big warm heart. A room would light up when he walked in.  His extraordinary personality would make your day special.   He always treated people with respect regardless of their race or gender.  I know heaven is glowing and the angels are praising him.  I’m so truly blessed to have had the opportunity to know him.  God Bless Bill Snyder.  



Bill was a great leader who worked harder than just about anyone I ever knew. He was a boss and a friend. My condolences to Sally and his entire family. 

Uncle Bill was one of the sweetest people I have ever meet. I never heard him raise his voice or say a bad thing about anyone. So happy we had a chance to celebrate his 90th birthday last year.  He was extremely generous. He took really great care of his family, especially his sister, my mother.  He loved Aunt Sally so so much. They had a true love. He will be greatly missed. 

Uncle Bill was a truly wonderful man.  So kindhearted and always smiling.  He was a very generous individual whose vocabulary did not include the word no.  He will be so dearly missed.
