Beloved mother Marya Amelia Farenga Methven, passed July 25, 2020 in Winter Haven, Florida, her home for more than 45 years. Born December 4, 1933 in New York to Frank and Edna Farenga, Marya grew up in the city and on Long Island, remaining until high school graduation and then moving to Denver, Colorado.
Marya worked for United Airlines and there met her husband, William Charles Methven. The two were married September 4, 1968 and retired to Winter Haven, Florida in 1974.
An acclaimed child singer and published poet, Marya enjoyed the arts, as well as teaching. Active throughout her years in Winter Haven at St. Joseph Parish and School, where her children attended.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Methven. Also preceded in death by her son, Franklin Edward Michail Methven, who passed in 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Ann Walters, who lives in Seattle, WA.
