Blake, Harry (Bud) left this life on June 9, 2017 after a brief illness. His beloved wife, Beverly was by his side. They would have been celebrating their 9th wedding anniversary on June 18th. Bud was born on Nov. 1, 1927 in Detroit, Mi. His parents were the late Harry C. and Alberta Blake. His family later moved to Walled Lake, MI where he attended and graduated from Walled Lake High School. Bud married his first wife, Nancy S. Maki, in May of 1948. From that union he had four children: Terry L. Blake (Hilton Head, SC), Mark L. Blake (deceased 2002), Kelley J. Mihelich (Ken) Lake Orion, MI, and Sherri R. Sweetman of Indiana. He is survived by his sister Majorie Donlin (Royal Oak, MI) and was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Hartley of NC and Carole Watts of Georgia. Bud owned the Walnut Lake IGA store in Birmingham, MI which he later sold and bought the 406 Sports Bar in Rochester. He met and married his second wife, Marilyn K Spenst, and moved with her and her 2 children to Winter Haven, FL. Bud was a true sports enthusiast both participating in and watching all different sports. He was happiest when on the golf course or playing volley ball in the swimming pool. He spent his years in Florida working for the Polk County Sheriff’s Dept. as a bailiff. He led a full life and will be sadly missed by his family and many
friends. A memorial service will be held at the Oakwood Estates Clubhouse on Friday, June 16th, at 2 p.m.
