Edith Elizabeth Brooks, 69, passed away on February 15, 2020 in Winter Haven, Florida. She was born on September 10. 1950 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Willie and Lillian Wright of Eagle Lake, Florida.
Edith worked for State Farm for 44 years. When not working she enjoyed attending her church, Winter Haven Baptist Church. Edith had a passion for taking care of others, whether it be assisting to feed the homeless or cooking for her own family every Sunday after church.
Edith is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ronald C. Brooks of Winter Haven, Florida, her brother Willie Robert Wright (Bob) and his wife Vickie of Marfa, Texas, daughters Krista Rule and Husband Ron of Sparta, New Jersey and Katrina Slaughter and husband Mike of Eagle Lake, Florida along with her grandchildren Lucas Rule, Ashley Rule, Megan Rule, Lilly Slaughter and Kaitlyn Slaughter. Edith also leaves behind her niece Elizabeth Moore (Preston) of San Antonio, Texas, nephew Curtis Wright (Marty) of Cedar Creek, Texas and nephew Robert Wright (Valerie) of Weatherford, Texas along with many other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm with a celebration of life service to begin at 1:30pm. Following will be a graveside service at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven.
