Allen David Johns, 99, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away on April 16, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1922 in Live Oak, FL and moved to this area 98 years ago. Allen was a veteran of The U.S. Navy serving on the USS Bennington. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked as an auto mechanic.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Olive Johns, sister, Mildred Ehrhardt, daughter-in-law, Beth Johns, and great grandson, Carter Apel. He is survived by his two sons, Larry Johns of Winter Haven, FL and Terry Johns (Delores) of Mulberry, FL, seven grandchildren, Kevin Johns of Jacksonville, FL, Gary Johns of Gainesville, FL, Nicole Apel of Winter Haven, FL, Matthew Johns of Auburndale, FL, Edie Seaborn of Mulberry, FL, Tiffany Ward of Bradley, FL, and Jessica Birdwell of Mulberry, FL, sixteen great grandchildren, a niece, Sharon Boling (Jim) of Winter Haven, FL, sister –in-law, Grace Shea (Hersh), and many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Allen’s life will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 1:30 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven, Florida.
