Lieutenant Commander Alan Charles Bentley, LCDR, USN, Ret., age 81, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away in Hospice at Advent Hospital. He was born May 6, 1943 to Alberta and Clifford Bentley in Brooklyn, New York.
He graduated from FSU and Michigan Central University, earning a Master's Degree. Alan proudly served 27 years as a Naval Flight Officer, retiring in 1988.
Alan leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 37 years, Patricia; a daughter Julie (Graham) Hunt of Irving, TX; son Andrew (Keri) of Gainesville, FL; four grandchildren, Brennen, Amelia, Rilyn, and Elise; and his shipmate during military career, CDR Janiver Smith, USN, Ret. of Maine.
A family service is planned with burial in Florida National Cemetery.
