Scott was born on February 14, 1965 in Columbia, South Carolina to Carl Eldon Stallard and Judith Scott Stallard. The family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1971 where Scott attended Burbank Elementary School and Hastings Jr High. In 1979 the family moved to Orlando, Florida where he attended Lake Highland Preparatory School and graduated in 1983. He went on to attend Auburn University and later graduated from Georgia State University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Upon graduation, Scott obtained his pilot’s license. He flew for US Checks, US Airways, and then enjoyed a lengthy career with NetJets. During this time he had the opportunity to serve as a First Officer and later a Captain in many planes in their growing fleet, finishing his career in the Global 7500. He loved both his craft as well as the camaraderie with all of his aviation colleagues.
In November 2013 Scott met his wife, Susan Blackmer. They quickly realized that they were unconventional in the same ways and were perfect for one another. They were married on May 25, 2015 in Sorrento, Italy. They have two precious Vizslas, Skye and Charlie. Scott loved performance sports cars, F1, dogs, sushi, places with palm trees, travel, and family but most of all he loved spending time with his pack (Susan, Skye, and Charlie).
Scott is survived by his wife Susan (Blackmer) Stallard, his sister Allison (Matt) Dee of Columbus, Ohio, sister Sydney (Steve) Marzeotti of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, nieces Lauren (Cole) Richter and Annalisa Marzeotti, nephews Patrick Dee and Aidan Marzeotti, grand nieces Sofia & Hattie Richter, grand nephew Oliver Richter and his mother-in-law Marilyn Blackmer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thank you to the wonderful team at Orlando Health and Cornerstone Hospice for their care of Scott through this difficult journey. We are especially grateful for Drs. Busowski and Ramakrishna for their truly personal investment in his treatment.
Scott’s celebration of life will be held at Baldwin Fairchild, 428 E. Plant St., Winter Garden, Florida on Sunday, March 24. The gathering will begin at 3:00pm, the service will be held at 3:30pm, and a reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers please feel welcome to make a donation to the Melanoma Research Foundation in Scott’s honor.
