Rucktenwald, Janice Lee – born July 16, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, deceased March 10, 2020 in Groveland, Florida, 68 years of age. She was a resident of Trilogy Orlando community in Groveland at the time of her death.
A graduate of Immaculate Conception and Taft High School in Chicago, Janice furthered her schooling by obtaining a Bachelor in Education at DePaul University in Chicago and a Masters in Education at Concordia University in Irvine, California. She was credentialed in three states, Illinois, Connecticut, and California. She spent the vast majority of her career teaching, loving, supporting, and encouraging young students during their education journey. While she primarily taught grade school, she also worked with teens through local area churches, and finished her career as an Assistant Principal. She spent her last 20 years at SMAA (Saint Mary’s and All Angels) in Aliso Viejo, California, a faith-based International Baccalaureate School.
Mrs. Rucktenwald was the daughter of father Vito Abbinanti and mother Virginia (nee Paepke) of Chicago, Illinois. She is survived by husband Thomas Rucktenwald and sons Mark, Jeffrey, and David, Daughters-in-law Molly (Dorozenski) and Leigh (Montgomery) and two grandchildren; Janice is also survived by sister Judy and her two children, Cheryl and Adam, and loving cousins from both the Abbinanti and Paepke families.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future at the Magnolia House in Trilogy Orlando. The family is sensitive to the present health circumstances that trouble our nation and also for the needs of those that may travel some distance to this celebration.
