Robert was born on April 16, 1934 in Tams, West Virginia to the late William Garner Pegram and Dorothy McKinney Pegram. He graduated from Newport News High School, Newport News, Virginia in 1952 and began working for the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company. He moved to San Gabriel, California in 1956 and began working in the printing industry. In 1959 he and his family moved to North Carolina and continued in the printing industry. He later owned and operated his own company before selling his business and retiring in 2013.
Robert was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and a member of the Northwest Spanish Congregation in Winston-Salem.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol DeCarlo Pegram; son, Robert James Pegram; and brother, William Pegram, Jr. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Robyn Graf Pegram; children, Natalie (Michael) Austin, Lori (Don) McCarson, Tim (Donna) Pegram, and Mark (Cheryl) Pegram; daughter-in-law, Lynne Pegram; grandchildren, Lori Beth (JJ) DeLeon, Rachel (Tyler) Albert, Jennifer (Joel) Jacoby, Sara Olivia, Dennell (Daniel) Ellis, Andrew (Ty) Pegram, and Ethan Pegram (Haden); great grandchildren, Tanner, Charlie, and Jack Albert, Huckleberry and Juniper Jacoby, Abilene and Hudson Ellis; sisters, Margaret Ann Phillips, Hazel Southall, Helen Ignace, and Dorothy (Dan) Daniels; as well as many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4665 Murray Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Robert will be buried at Forsyth Memorial Park in a private service.
