Judy Marshall Davis, 79, went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2024 at her home in York, South Carolina. She was born on December 2, 1944 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to William Vester “Doc” and Frances McKinney Marshall.
Judy graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with an associate degree in dental hygiene. Creating art was a lifelong passion and her interests included photography, painting, pen-and-ink, dying silks, and gardening. Over the years she would submit her work to the local fair, winning many ribbons. She loved the Lord and served Him by leading a praise & worship dance team appearing at various churches and a prison. The Lord called her to visit many locations on mission trips, including Israel, Europe, Jamaica, and more. She was also a talented writer, publishing a book full of her stories, Christian beliefs, and personal genealogy.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 48 years, Jesse Shumate Davis Jr. She is survived by her children, Jesse Shumate Davis III (and wife, Kathryn) and John Marshall Davis; granddaughters Natalie Elizabeth and Austyn Rose; and sister Brenda McKinney.
Funeral services will be held at the Vogler Funeral Home at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, NC on December 14th, 2024. There will be a viewing and reception of guests beginning at 1:00 pm in the chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with interment to follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.
