Gary William Lankford Jr.

Gary William Lankford, Jr. passed away on October 2, 2021 in Winston Salem. He was born on October 13, 1981 to Gary William Lankford and Shelly Vannoy Lankford. Gary grew up in Stokes County and attended South Stokes High School.

Gary lived life to the fullest. He loved people and helping his friends and family whenever he could.

Gary enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking. He loved watching football and pulling for the Green Bay Packers.

In addition to his parents, Gary is survived by his grandmothers, Wilma Healy and Dovie Lankford; sisters, Misty Grubbs (Donny) and Brittany Sapp (Jesse); nieces and nephews, Cameron Dobson, Michael Grubbs, Makenzie Sapp, Gracelyn Sapp, and Gunner Sapp; uncles, Michael Lankford, Stanley Lankford (Margaret), and Lewis Vannoy (Lois); aunts, Patty McLwain (Jerome), Vicki Lankford, and Wendy Witt; girlfriend, Diana Robbins; and many other loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Ross Vannoy and Charles Lankford.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, October 7th from 10am to 11am at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park. A graveside service will follow the visitation and Gary will be laid to rest at Forsyth Memorial Park.
