Donald Edward Beisswanger passed away peacefully at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey at the age of 77 surrounded by his loving wife of 48 years, Maryfern Beisswanger, and daughter, Amy Beisswanger Yoder.
Don was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Russell Beisswanger and Helen Schmid Beisswanger on January 2, 1947. He attended Tenafly High School and then received a degree in education from Memphis State University. After college, he began a 44 year career at Green Brook Middle and High Schools, teaching industrial arts, computers, and technology. He proudly served as athletic director for the high school and coached both the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams.
He is predeceased by his parents and his two older brothers, Russell and William “Bill” Beisswanger.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, daughter, son-in-law, Jon Yoder, his three grandsons, Brayden, Ben, and Ethan Yoder of Winston-Salem, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was a member of IAABO and CBOA as well as a member of Readington Reformed Church for 46 years.
He enjoyed his family and friends, his teaching career, watching sports, cruising with his wife on Royal Caribbean, and going to Atlantic City.
Services will be held at Vogler Funeral Home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Saturday, November 23 at 10 am.
