March 25,1958- April 21,2023
Terry Michael Barnhardt, 65 years, passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 21,2023 from a short battle with cancer. Though he left this world too soon, the impact that he had on us will be felt forever.
Terry leaves behind his wife Georgina, whom he just celebrated 44 years of marriage with on March 31st; his children Derek (Ann), Mike and Michelle (Manny); his greatest joy of all, his grandchildren Kegan, Phoenix, Mason, Presley (Joanie, as he would refer to her) and Paisley; his siblings Dave (Diane), Wayne (Sue), Parma (Dave), Dennis (Cathy) and Karen (Joe). He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends. Terry is predeceased by his parents David and Joan Barnhardt.
Terry was born and raised in Fort Erie, Ontario and later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where he met his wife and started their family. Terry lived his life selflessly when it came to his family, always making sure they were well taken care of. He would be the first person to offer an early morning ride or help someone when needed. When his children and grandchildren were coming over he made sure that their favourite snacks were there for them. Terry being Terry, always loved a gathering. Whether it was family or friends, he was in the midst of it, entertaining. You could often find him with his friends in the “hood” watching sports in the gazebo or having happy hour in one of their garages. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and was always their biggest fan. Terry loved gardening and sharing what he grew with everyone (watch for the fly on the wall girls). His outgoingness would often bring his friends and family together and was happiest when the ones he loved were gathered together. He had a way of making people feel welcomed, which gravitated people towards him. There’s not a day that will go by that we won’t think of him and miss him deeply.
Cremation has taken place and as per Terry’s request there will be a small gathering of family and close friends at a later date.
You may not be here in body but what you have created will be with us forever.
