Sheila Dorothy Davidson
(Nee Campbell)
May 17, 1930 – December 14, 2022
Sheila passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14 surrounded by family at Victoria Hospital at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Malcolm in May 2014.
She is lovingly remembered by and profoundly missed by her sons Garry, David and Kevin (Linda) and grandchildren Katie and Scott (Kara), and great-grandchildren Chloe and Jase. Sheila is also mourned by family and in-laws in England, Teulon and throughout Canada.
Sheila was born in London and lived through the harsh realities of WWII as a child. She was educated and worked in England, and loved to figure skate and ice dance after work at Wembley Arena. She met her husband Malcolm in 1948 who played for the Wembley Monarchs and Wembley Lions of the British National Hockey League until 1957. They married December 17, 1949 in England and two of their three sons were born there before returning to Canada in 1957 and settling in Fort Garry.
Sheila enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, knitting and fashion, and worked for Fairweather at Polo Park and St. Vital for many years. She did extensive travelling over the years with her husband and family to the U.K., Ireland, Europe, New York, California, Hawaii, Florida, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Panama, Cozumel, Barbados and The Bahamas. Sheila loved her family and was always full of energy and liked to be kept busy which largely accounted for her longevity.
At her request a private family service will be held.
We would like to thank Dr. Peitsch and the compassionate and caring staff at Victoria Hospital 4 South. In Sheila’s memory, donations may be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, R3T 2E8.
