OBITUARY

Seng Houat Kong

5 April, 1952 – 15 September, 2022
IN THE CARE OF

Thomson In The Park Funeral Home and Cemetery

In Loving Memory

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Seng Houat Kong with his family by his side on September 15, 2022 at the age of 70.

He is survived by his wife Chanh and his three daughters; Kay (Roger), Sandy (Jon), Lisa(John); seven grandchildren (Lea, Elodie, Lillian, Sullivan, Morrison, Naomi, and Hazel); his three brothers and three sisters.

Seng was born in Laos and immigrated to Canada in 1981 with his wife and daughter. He lived in Kingston for a while before setting down roots in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he would live for the remainder of his life.

He was a loving, quiet, hardworking man, working tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed, and every opportunity.

He worked at Dunn Rite Chicken for his whole working life. Unfortunately, he was not able to enjoy his retirement as he was diagnosed with dementia and would spend the last five years of his life at the Simkin Centre.

The Kong Family would like to thank the staff at the Simkin Centre for taking such good care of him particularly the health care workers at Simkin 2. They showed him much care and support and were especially helpful during his last remaining days.

A private family service was held.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.thomsoninthepark.com for the Kong family.
