Rose Karen MacKay (nee Magas) passed on July 30, 2016 at 93 years. Rose was predeceased by husband Raymond Richlew and George MacKay, daughter Dawn Cyr, as well as numerous family members. Rose is survived by her son, Terry Richlew and daughter, Shirley Spiwak, sisters Mary Nazarko and Dorothy Skup. Rose was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was an optimist and made the most of every situation in a positive way. She had the ability to always see the bright side and was an inspiration to be around. She had a way of making everyone feel better no matter what the problem was just by being a good listener. Rose loved life and was truly thankful for every day. Rose was a member of the John Black United Church and the East Kildonan Horticultural Society. She enjoyed travelling throughout her life and spent many summers at the lake with the family camping and fishing. She loved the outdoors and was a great gardener. She was a wonderful cook and ribbon winning baker and loved to have traditional family gatherings at her home with delicious dinners reflecting her Ukrainian heritage. She was the heart of our family, a pillar of strength, and will always be loved and remembered. A private family service has already been held. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Special thanks to Dr. William Leslie for the special care given to Rose
