MAXWELL JOHN SANDILANDS
It is with great sadness, we announce that Maxwell John Sandilands, passed peacefully with family by his side on May 14, 2022.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Carol; son Jason (Trish) grandchildren James and Savannah, and their mother Rebecca; Glen (Kerri) grandsons Rory and Connor, sister Judy, sisters-in-law Susan Clark and Dot Sandilands as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Max was predeceased by his parents, Muriel and Harry, sisters Nancy and Joan; brother Kevin; and brother-in-law Cole.
Max was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on June 25, 1944. After marrying Carol (Clark) in 1972, he immigrated to Canada in 1976. Max’s life-long career included accounting and management before retiring from Greensteel Industries in 2012.
Max was a member of the ANAF 283 for nearly 30 years, where he was an active member of their snooker league.
He also enjoyed watching his sons play soccer, football and hockey. He was an avid sports fan and was always cheering on the Jets and Bombers. In his retirement, Max enjoyed spending time with family, playing golf, snooker and crib as well as projects around the house.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at VGH, Prime, Deer Lodge, and Health Sciences Centre ER.
The Funeral will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Ness Avenue Baptist Church followed by private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Max’s memory may be made to Parkinson’s Canada
