She was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Olive; siblings Nellie and George (Winnifred) and her niece Suzanne.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Jane (Art Long) of Port Moody; great nephew Rob Taylor (Marta) and great great-nephew Lucas, all of Vancouver.
From early childhood, she was known as “Pat” to family and friends, much to the dismay of her father. Pat worked in the office of the Canada Bread Company which became McGavin Toastmaster. In recent conversations, her memories were that her bosses were kind and her co-workers congenial.
Pat was a life-long member of the congregation of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church. She worked on the Altar Guild for many years, carefully laundering and ironing the linen used on the altar every Sunday.
The world has lost a kind and gentle soul whose life was lived with gratitude, patience and humour.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home for their kindness and their gentle care.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 29 at 11:30 am at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue.
