Chris, words cannot express how sad Jim and I were to hear of Karen's passing.  She was a very unique individual and the world is a duller place without her in it.  Sorry we could not attend her memorial service.

Karen was a roomate and friend of mine in the late 70's in Toronto. I remember her going through her first fight with cancer and when her son was born.He was her special gift and world. We lost contact when she moved back to Winnipeg in the 80's.I remember Karen as a very strong willed women who would never let anything get in her way.Karen was kind,funny and caring.Rest in peace my friend.

Dear Chris and family, Karen and I met when she was attending University. At the time she was a single mom and "determination" was most definitely her middle name! Even if times were tough, nothing was going to get in her way.(Of course she graduated with honours!) We reconnected a few years ago thanks to our mutual friend Johanne and we just picked up where we left off. She was even more beautiful, radiant and classy, which reflected and spoke to her loves: Chris, her dancing and an adventure-filled life. Although adversity had come knocking on her door more times than most people could handle, Karen was the toughest, most courageous woman I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am proud to call her my friend and know in my heart that she is dancing up a storm. I am so glad I got to see her last October when I was in Winnipeg.  We had a glass of champagne together.  Here's to you Karen!

There are many hearts filled of sorrow at this time, but we received a great gift having Auntie Karen in our lives for so many years. She was a light that shone brighter than many. She will be greatly missed. God bless her and keep her close and may the family have peace. Big hugs to you all.

It is with great sadness that I hear of Karen's passing. I remember Karen in my adult jazz classes at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet many years ago. She was always so joyful, so vibrant and so generous. Her energy and passion for dance always filled the room.  She formed long friendships with many other students who for over 38 years remain close.

I wish her family strength, courage and love. Her memory  will live in our hearts always.

My heart goes out to all of you. Karen was so full of life and taken way to soon.

Dear Chris and family,
Karen was a force to be reckoned with - when I started my own cancer journey she was one of the first people I spoke with.  She shared openly her experiences, told me what questions to ask and what to expect along the way.  We shared some shopping "sprees' with Kelli and she definitely had the eye  for fashion and "bling" - always full of brightness and flair !  She will be missed by all those who knew her, and, I know she will always be with you in your heart.  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Chris, our thoughts are with you and Karen's family.  We were your neighbours on Baytree for a few years.  The write-up and picture in the paper is beautiful and really speaks to Karen's personality!  She was happy, passionate, loved her dance, and really lit up a conversation.
