Mrs. Janice Irene Swedik

It is with great sadness that the family of Janice Irene Swedik (nee Bevan) announce her passing on September 16, 2020, at Holy Family Home, Winnipeg, with Elvis singing in the background, at the age of 69.

Janice was predeceased by her husband Robert (1986); her parents, William and Jessie (nee Milligan); and her sisters Laurie and Joan.

Her tenacious presence will be deeply missed by her daughter Leslie (Mike), grandchildren Valynne and RJ, sisters Carol (Murray), Lynn (Brian), brothers Bill (Chris), Jack (Ida), David (Heather), brother-in-law Don (Laurie) and many nieces, nephews and great friends. Special thank you to her friend Kathy for taking care of her in her final chapter.

Jan was born on October 11, 1950 in Winnipeg and was raised in East Kildonan. She met the love of her life Bob and married in 1972, and after 10 years of wedding bliss came the arrival of Leslie; their pride and joy. After the untimely death of her husband Bob, Jan became Mother and Father to Leslie and can take pride in having raised one of the kindest and caring persons we know.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Holy Family Home for their care of Jan and their profoundly meaningful send off.

Words cannot say the sorrow we feel in our hearts, but we know you are wrapped in hugs from others who have passed before you. We love you and will miss you dearly.

As per Janice’s wishes no service will be held.
