Janice was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Garvie Rae, aunt Yvonne Robb, and step mother, Mildred Rae. Janice will be lovingly remembered and missed by friends and family, including daughter Courtney(Kellen), and grandchildren, Oliver and Stella.
Throughout the years, Janice loved spending time at Moose Lake (her “Shangri-la”) playing countless games of long rummy, and scrabble, keeping the yard well cared for and being on the dock. Later, Janice enjoyed more lake views in the Gimili area, where she met many friends over the years.
Janice’s career was spent at Archwood school, where she taught for over 30 years and made life long friendships.
You could normally find Janice watching sports- curling, hockey, football and golf were her favourites. A meal at Rae & Jerry’s followed by a Jets game used to make for a perfect evening.
Being a Gramma was cherished by Janice and she spent many hours caring for her grandkids. Her “I can at Gramma’s” sign was always proudly on display.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In memory of Janice, a donation can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
