Survived by his loving wife, Christine, son Ralph (Haidji), step-daughter Caroline (David), step-son Alexander (Tenille), sister Marliese (John) and brother Herman (Eileen), along with grandchildren; Gabriel, Leonie, Stephan, Tanner, Sarah, Logan, Samantha and great-grandson, Ethan.
Henry was born and raised in Bielefeld, Germany. After the war he worked for the British Administration, moving to Cologne in 1951 and joining Volkswagen as a salesman in 1953.
In May 1954, Henry immigrated to Canada and Toronto became his home for the next 22 years. He joined Volkswagen Canada as a Salesman and eventually became the National Sales Manager. In 1976, Henry moved to Winnipeg and began his career as a Realtor with Flanders Real Estate Ltd for 27 years, joining Collier Pratt McGarry in 2003 until his retirement in 2007. In 1978 Henry proudly became a Canadian Citizen.
In 1994, Henry met the love of his life, Christine and the two enjoyed 25 wonderful years together, traveling to many countries, meeting new people and enjoying different cultures.
Over the years Henry enjoyed many different sporting activities from soccer to horseback riding, skiing and scuba diving and tennis which he continued to enjoy up to the age of 85!
Of all his successes and achievements, Henry will be remembered mostly for his kindness, generosity, integrity and love of family and friends. Leading up to his final days, Henry requested a visit from Pastor Logan and made it through the remainder of his journey with Jesus by his side.
A celebration of Henry’s life will take place on Saturday, October 5th at 2:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, The Andrea Dufault Memorial Fund (U of M), or a charity of their choice.
