Evelyn grew up in Winnipeg and unbeknownst to her met the love of her life at the tender age of 8 years old. Evelyn and David began a friendship that would carry them through 67 years of marriage. They both attended John M. King School in Winnipeg. They attended school together, played hide and seek with the neighborhood kids (including David Finlay) until they moved. Providence had it planned, and they reconnected in their early teens and later married in 1953. Evelyn was a dedicated mother to her husband Dave and four children and family. She was talented in dance, singing and a keen eye for art with artistic abilities and other crafts as hobbies. Sunday’s pot-roast dinner with family were always a highlight in the Finlay family. One of her favorite hobbies was 'The Family Tree' which she diligently and extensively built over the years. She took great pride in this enormous project. She sent for info and shared info with others for the purpose of building the Family Tree and leaving an amazing legacy!
