Dyal Singh Garcha

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather Dyal Singh Garcha, on December 8, 2021. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the age of 98.

Dyal Singh is survived by his devoted wife Dalip Kaur Garcha, sister Gurdev Kaur Rakhra and their four loving children, son Bhupinder Singh Garcha (Surinder Garcha), daughter Jaswinder Singh (Mukhtiar Singh), daughter Paramjeet Jassal (Jasminder Jassal), daughter Parminder Singh (Satwinder Singh) and late son Sukhdev Garcha (Ravinder Garcha).

He is predeceased by his late sister Gurnam Kaur Rakhra, brother Gurcharan Singh Garcha, and brother Joginder Singh Garcha.

Dyal Singh was born in Shiniwaal, India on July 04, 1923. He later moved to Moga, India where he lived a beautiful life surrounded by a large extended family. He came to Canada in 1980 where he made his second home.

Dyal Singh lived an extraordinary life and was a religious man of great wisdom, pride and compassion. He was a role model to all who have met him. He was greatly admired by his many cousins, nephews, nieces, 12 grandchildren and loved spending time with his 11 great grandchildren. He modelled a life well lived and will forever remain in our hearts.

The funeral service and celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Thomson “In the Park '' Funeral Home located at 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Following the funeral service, prayers with langar will be held at Winnipeg South Sikh Centre Gurdwara located at 1248 Wilkes Avenue.
