Douglas Raymond Keller

He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Doug was a Father, a Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, a Husband, a Brother, an Uncle, a Cousin and truly just an incredible man with a huge heart. He will be sadly missed by his children, Doug and Erika Keller, John and Stefanie Keller and Sherry Beck, his grandchildren, Laelonnae, Georgia and Chaise, Brett, Shayla and Hope and Lynn and Stephanie, as well as, his great grandchildren, Dominic and Lydia, Luke and Lorelei. He remained good friends with his wife Sharon Keller and always enjoyed spending holidays together as a family.

Doug was born Feb 20th, 1946 in Winnipeg, MB. He was the beloved son of Adam and Mary Keller. He spent much of his childhood on the family farm in Camp Morton, MB. He was predeceased by 4 of his siblings Carol Ann, James, Lawrence and David. He had many special times with his other siblings, Bob, Margaret, Joyce and Jerry and continued to spend his life enjoying travelling with his siblings and their spouses. He had a passion for car shows and even liked to roll a few dice at the Casinos.

At a young age he discovered his love of carpentry and started on his lifetime career path as a journeyman carpenter. His profession allowed him to work in many interesting locations including Resolute Bay and close to the North Pole. He took enormous pride in his craftsmanship and was always willing to lend a hand to his family and friends with their projects. Each and every one of his loved ones recalls a time when Doug stepped in to help out without asking for anything in return. He was generous with his time, knowledge, and his love.

Doug also loved to fish. He cherished his annual fishing trips with Al, Scott and Rick and planned the trip for months. His favourite fishing hole was Crowduck Lake, which will be his final resting place. He had many happy times out on the water.

As the friends and family mourn Doug’s passing, we also will remember and celebrate his life by keeping those memories with us and embracing the enthusiasm Doug had for life. He showed such a resilient spirit, despite injury and setbacks, and showed us all what true strength of character looks like. We left us all with such valuable lessons and he will be greatly missed.

Service will be held at Klassen’s Funeral Home at 1897 Henderson Hwy on Saturday, October 30th at 1pm (full vaccination required to attend service, masks are mandatory). Private viewing and prayers for immediate family only at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Doug’s name to MB Brain Injury Association.
