With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Christopher on April 29th, 2014 at the age of 60 years.
Christopher will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his sons, Maxwell Christopher and Samuel Arthur, his mother Christine, his sisters Pamela Hodgson (Christopher and children Brian, Jacqueline, and Patrick), Barbara Zilke (Richard and children Angela, Laura, and Alex), and Kathy Rogers (Greg and children Kieran and Nicholas). He will also be remembered by an extensive family, especially the Boults.
Christopher attended Kelvin high-school and then obtained a Master’s Degree in Zoology at the University of Manitoba. He worked for 25 years as a fisheries biologist at Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Christopher managed eight major Arctic commercial fisheries where he was particularly admired for his ability to work with the Inuit people.
He had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor and often made his family and friends laugh. He was a proud and dedicated father and loved, more than anything, the time spent with his boys.
He is predeceased by his father Allan Oswald Day.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at 10:00am at Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
The family of Christopher would like to give special thanks to his dear friend and colleague Theresa Carmichael.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a charity of your choice.
