It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Michael James Peters. He was taken from us too soon. On November 21, 2022, Austin passed away unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 29.
Austin will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family. He was predeceased by his mother Lee Ann, grandpa Peter, and grandma Patricia, including his pet dogs Coco, Harley, Monkey, and Chili. He is survived by his grandma Terry; father Glenn; brothers Evan and Jaydin; uncle Todd (Charlene); aunt Andrea (Tim); cousins Cole, Seth, Trinity, Paige; nieces and nephews and other close family and friends.
Austin was born on June 30, 1993 in Winnipeg, MB. He was well known throughout the city, making friends anywhere he went. Austin was extremely caring and always wanted to give to whoever needed it, he would happily go out of his way to give the shirt off his back before you even had to ask. He treated everyone like they were his own family.
Throughout his whole life, Austin was always passionate about art, specifically drawing, which he started at a young age and kept up with. He had an extremely creative mind that he loved to express within his art, as well as through his clothing and style, expressing himself through that on a daily basis. While growing up some of his favourite pastimes were skateboarding and football, which he was very skilled in. He spent years enjoying and taking part in these becoming quite experienced. Austin was a team player and it showed in his sportsmanship. During his football career, many teams reached out in hopes to have him play for them. This shows the drive and passion Austin had in his life.
Austin wanted to make an impact on the crisis that is homelessness that people are experiencing in Winnipeg. He had recently begun making progress on this. This was important to him, especially after going through his own struggles, he wanted to really make a difference and help. He made positive impacts on those who got to be with him day to day. His family hopes he can be at peace and be with the family and animals that we all miss and love that were predeceased by him.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you to make a donation to Nine Circles Community Health Centre in memory of Austin.
