on Saturday, July 27 2019, at 87 years young. Cherished husband of the late Joy (2007) (nee Bond), and dear father to the late Richard (2017). Beloved son of the late Albert and Rhoda Merritt of Louisville, Ontario. Len will be forever missed by his great-nephew and best friend, Tim Faubert and wife Colleen, as well as his feline companion Blackie. Survived by his sister Phyllis Boylan and brother in-law Marvin Bond (Cyndy). Among his many talents, Len was a tremendous dart player in this region with many of his accomplishments taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255. Len was known to light up a room wherever he went. His favorite hangouts were Riverside Tavern and Average Joes, thanks to staff at both of these locations for your kindness and friendship. He had a love for baseball and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, never missing a game and eagerly waiting (since 1948) for them to win another World Series. Len was a proud retiree of Chrysler Canada.
He fought a number of health battles over the last decade and received strong support from several sources. Special thanks to all of his friends at Huron Lodge, who provided him with many fond memories from his time spent there. Our many thanks to Nicole and the Bayshore Home Health team as well as the compassionate professionals at WRH Met 4th floor N, where he had ‘world class care’ in his final days.
In keeping with Len’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (519-252-5711). Should you wish, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Windsor.
