83 years. Born on August 1, 1935 in Quitman, Mississippi. James went home to be the Lord on July 26, 2019. Predeceased by his parents Damon and Clonie McCree. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Charlene (nee Stewart) of 51 years, his sister; Lu Vera Kirksey, his children; Sharon (Leo) Carr, La Vell McCree (Leila) and Wendell (Charnell) McCree. Also survived by his brother-in-law Keith (Kathy) Stewart, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. James was an avid hunter, a world traveler and builder. He retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Michigan after 35 years and he was a member of the UAW Local 600. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue (519-254-3223) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. James will then rest at the Israel Missionary Baptist Church, 3748 E. Forest Avenue, Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Detroit Memorial Park.
